Rudolph's Nose Isn't the Only Thing Lighting Up First Stage!

Let's be real - getting a 5-year-old to sit still for anything longer than a TikTok video can feel like herding reindeer.

But First Stage's current production of "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer™: The Musical" might just be working some North Pole magic on Milwaukee's tiniest theater critics.

We sent a grandmother along with her 5 year old grandson to see the show and asked her to report back on the experience.

Well, once again we learned why First Stage continues to be one of Milwaukee's gems!

In a time when kids are more likely to swipe games on an iPad than look up at the stars, First Stage is doing something pretty special.

As our grandmother insider put it, seeing these characters live "makes the story that much more real."

Sure, TV elves are cool, but when there's a real-life elf prancing around just feet away from you? Game changer.

The First Stage crew has nailed the sweet spot with a 90-minute show including intermission - just long enough for holiday magic, just short enough to avoid any "are we there yet" questions.

They've got surprise moments that had kids jumping in their seats, like a giant snowman that rolled out unexpectedly.

Even better? The seating ensures every kid gets a great view, no booster seat required.

Here's what really sets First Stage apart: they get that kids aren't tiny adults.

There's no awkward shushing when a kid gets excited and points out their favorite character.

Instead, they've created this awesome vibe where kids can actually be kids while watching theater.

Running through December 29, 2024, this production of Rudolph is serving up more holiday spirit than a peppermint mocha with extra whip.

It's the perfect excuse to get the family off their phones and into some real-life holiday magic.
